Spirit Cat

Well, we've had Milky Way now for nearly seven months! He is a sweet and loving cat with us humans, but still has serious issues with other cats. We had to put our dear Hansel down in June, and I thought that might change things a little bit. We have opened up the door again with the baby gates - it was far too stressful for Hansel to walk by and get "attacked" nearly every time. We have been feeding Jabez on one side of the gate and Milky Way on the other side. That has been going well - I even have removed the gate from between them while they eat. I have never let him finish his food before I close up the gate again, but I did let Jabez in from outside 2 weeks ago when Milky Way was in the main part of the house. As I hoped would not happen, he attacked Jabez almost immediately. Luckily, I had a water-spray bottle and it worked to break up the fight. Jabez went back outside, but he was angry and Milky Way acted like I had nearly killed him and refused to come near me...
